The UK government’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) found in the process of investigating Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard that the Nintendo Switch was “technically” unable to run “Call of Duty”.
In a recent report, the CMA claimed that the Nintendo Switch cannot run Call of Duty “with a similar game quality to an Xbox or PlayStation.”
You may be wondering why the CMA would say such nonsense because major regulators focus on Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard on “Call of Duty”, and Microsoft has therefore promised global regulators that it will release “Call of Duty” to Introduce the Nintendo Switch host platform and provide Sony with a guaranteed contract of at least 10 years.
The CMA report aims to assess the consequences of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, as well as the viability of the historic agreement Microsoft and Nintendo recently reached.
They have now concluded that despite a recent legal agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo promising to “bring Call of Duty content to Nintendo players on the same day on Xbox, with full functionality and equivalent content,” the findings suggest that There is absolutely no way that Nintendo Switch hardware can run Call of Duty.
Of course, the release of the more powerful Nintendo Switch 2/Pro could change that, but as things stand, the Nintendo Switch deal with Microsoft is out of the question for now.
