The release is expected to be built from the linux kernel and other open source components, without relying on upstream distributions, providing basic services and roots for the gradual establishment of independent upstream.
Officials say that the preview release is related to the lingering package format, atomic updates, and independent upstream. Officials will introduce these features starting today.
