Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most controversial games in gaming to date, with such a sea of problems at launch that it was pulled from the PlayStation Store shortly after its release. cd Projekt issued refunds to players and received intense criticism. As you can see from the chart, Cyberpunk 2077 sales skyrocketed in September 2022, which coincided with the launch date of the Cyberpunk: Edgewalker anime.

The chart below shows the sales figures of CDPR’s current titles, and there is no doubt that 2020 will be the year of highest sales, but also the year of collapsing word of mouth.

CDPR is currently planning a number of new games, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion, which is expected to offer online multiplayer capabilities, as well as a remake of the initial Witcher game using Unreal Engine 5, and a new Witcher trilogy is also in the works.
