Counterpoint: Huawei Harmony OS global market share is 2% in Q4 2022

According to a report by Counterpoint Research, global smartphone sales fell 14% year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2022, with iOS outperforming the overall market, down 12% year-over-year, and Android down 16% year-over-year.

Apple’s iOS market share reached an all-time high in the fourth quarter of 2022, largely benefiting from the release of the iPhone 14 series and responding to economic and geopolitical turmoil better than other vendors. The high-end smartphone market has also been more resilient than the mass market, which has helped Apple do well. 2022 saw a changing global smartphone OS market, with the iOS market share increasing and the Android share decreasing.

Huawei’s Harmony OS accounted for 2% of the global smartphone OS market and 8% of the Chinese market in the fourth quarter of 2022.
