Well-known e-sports journalist Richard Lewis broke the news, “Counter-Strike 2” is in development and will soon enter the testing phase, the reporter revealed the 2015 “Counter-Strike” match forgery scandal and other multiple major news related to “Counter-Strike”.

According to Lewis, who spoke to sources on condition of anonymity, he learned that “a new version of Counter-Strike is in the works and has been in the works for some time. He said, “This new version will almost certainly be released under the name Counter-Strike 2, and the expected launch of the beta is this month, no later than April 1.”

According to Lewis’ sources, the game is “ready to go” and has been in limited testing at Valve’s headquarters in Seattle. Strings related to CSGO Origin 2 update, such as “csgos2.exe” and “source2” were found in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience update file, which also indicates that CS: GO2 is in development.

In addition, the game will be made with the Source2 engine and the servers will be upgraded to 128tick to bring it in line with its competitor, Valorant.

Valve has not yet commented on the project. Currently, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive remains the most popular game on Valve’s Steam platform, attracting more than 1.3 million players online each day.
