Cost of 0 nickel and 0 cobalt plummeted, first OS high-manganese iron lithium battery

The official news of Sinovation Aviation, on August 28, Xie Qiu, vice president of Sinovation Aviation, delivered a keynote speech on “OS high manganese iron lithium battery” at the 2022 World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC) and announced the industry’s premiere of OS high manganese iron lithium battery. According to Xie Qiu, the battery platform technology of OS was released at the World New Energy Vehicle Conference in Hainan last year, and after more than a year of efforts, the pilot test has been completed and is now being tested for reliability in relevant supporting models.

OS battery is the use of the first performance principle, the structure of the cell and process manufacturing technology to reconfigure, is the fourth package form after the cylindrical, soft package, square, has a higher energy density, higher manufacturing efficiency, as well as higher space utilization.

The first generation of lithium iron phosphate pack using OS technology, energy density has reached 152Wh/kg, which should be the highest value in the industry so far, while the overall energy density retention rate reached 77%, supporting the vehicle range of more than 600 km.

The prerequisite for doing all this is that the height of the battery pack is only about 110 mm, and if its height is put to the more common 135 mm height in the industry, the whole vehicle range will be able to exceed 700 km.

Xie Qiu said, “Based on the understanding of the battery user experience, combined with the relevant materials technology, structural technology, the development of the OS high manganese iron lithium battery.

It has the following characteristics: First, better safety, we use TPP2.0, the industry’s first thermoelectric separation technology, to ensure the robustness of the system safety. Second, the amount of precious metals has been significantly reduced, including the amount of nickel, cobalt and lithium, helping users to get a lower purchase cost under the same mileage conditions.

Third, the battery pack height is reduced by 7% and the ground clearance is higher, reducing the probability of bumping. Fourth, the energy density of the phosphate system battery pack reaches 180Wh/kg, and the retention rate of energy density exceeds 80%; fifth, it supports the whole vehicle to reach 700km. Sixth, it can be repaired and disassembled. Seventh in the replenishment experience, we are rechargeable and exchangeable.”
