The BYD Ocean Net warship series will have its newest member joining the Brigade on May 28th when the Corvette 07 is expected to be released at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater bay Area Auto Show. Earlier reports had indicated a May release for the car and the company seems to have kept this promise.
The declaration information for the car is out and Corvette 07 would be the first medium-sized SUV car in the warship series and certain media expect it to start at a price higher than that of BYD Tang DM-i. Again, some sources claim that the BYD X DREAM concept car has realized mass-production in the form of the Corvette 07.
Corvette 07 Design
Adopting the design language of the very first model in the warship series, the Destroyer 05, it brings in an appearance that is more atmospheric and stable. The car features the trending big mouth grille of the BYD family and the multiple chrome trim strips across it are one of the major highlights of the car’s design. The central grille is flanked on both sides by multiple dot-matrix light groups.
Chrome trims are also added to the side skirts and a line extends from the front face of the car to the taillights. The taillights also carry a penetrating design that looks layered. The bottom end of the D-pillar is also decorated with strips. Finally, the hidden door handles offer premium touch to the car. Corvette 07 will flaunt the new BYD logo.
Corvette 07- Specifications
Talking of power, the car would utilize a DM-I plug-in hybrid system comprising of a 1.5T engine along with the electric motor. While the maximum output power of the engine is 102kW, the peak power of the front/rear motors is 145kWand 150kW respectively. We can expect a pure electric range of 200kms with the Corvette 07. A four-wheel drive DM-p that would yield an acceleration performance of 100km/h in 4.7 seconds. The car would be an efficient choice in terms of fuel economy.
