Confidence in 15-inch MacBook Air low, supply chain sources say Apple stock is not strong

According to DigiTimes’ latest news from supply chain control, several Apple suppliers are stocking up for the 15-inch MacBook Air, indicating that Apple will announce this notebook at the WWDC Developers Conference held in June this year.

The report pointed out that Apple has provided a 15-inch model for the MacBook Air product line for the first time. Judging from the supply chain stocking information, Apple has insufficient confidence in it. Citing an anonymous industry source, DigiTimes reported that “stocks for the new MacBook Air are not as strong compared to previous new products”.

DigiTimes predicts that MacBook shipments will reach around 5.19 million units in the second quarter, up from 4.1 million units in the first quarter and a 26.6% increase quarter-on-quarter.

DigiTimes predicts that MacBook shipments are expected to recover in the second half of the year. Part of the report reads: “Apple is expected to launch a new MacBook rumored to feature a 3nm chip in the second half of the year, which could spur buying momentum”.
