China’s chip industry heating up, talent salaries tripled: 1.2 million to recruit 400,000 level of people in previous years

According to the China Semiconductor Association, the shortage of chip professionals in China will exceed 250,000 in 2022, and by 2025, the gap will expand to 300,000.

In addition, the size of China’s IC-related graduates in 2020 is about 210,000, accounting for about 2.30% of the total number of graduates. TSMC routinely raises salaries every year in April, after news that TSMC will raise salaries by 8% this year, an increase higher than the 3% to 5% level in previous years. In this regard, TSMC chairman Liu Deyin said that this year’s adjustment “everyone will be very happy”.
