The January “Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Auto Show” kicked off on Friday night, and the application drawing of Chevrolet’s new plug-in hybrid car, the Equinox plug-in hybrid version, was unveiled for the first time.

The length, width and height of this car are 4653/1902/1714mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2730mm. Judging from its “body”, the Equinox is clearly a compact SUV. The overall design language of the car is quite hardcore, with a high ground clearance and a muscular body outline. It can also be seen from the rear part of the car that the new car is expected to provide different versions such as “Equinox ACTIV” or “Equinox RS”, and the tail badge clearly indicates its identity as a PHEV (plug-in hybrid) model.

In terms of power, the car is equipped with a 1.5L engine produced by SAIC-GM, with a maximum power of 127kW. At the same time, the car’s power battery comes from Fudi Battery Co., Ltd. in Qinghai and Xi’an. It is also equipped with a drive motor with a peak power of 140kW and a maximum speed of 180km/h.

According to previous reports, Chevrolet announced a new product launch plan earlier this year: a number of pure electric and hybrid models will be unveiled and launched in the second half of this year.

According to this “plan”, the Equinox plug-in hybrid version and a medium-to-large pure electric SUV based on the Autoneng platform will be launched within the year. In addition, a new mid-to-large SUV, the Ranger, also appeared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s announcement last month. The car is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV and will be equipped with a 2.0T gasoline-electric hybrid system.
