At the Flash Memory Summit & Expo (FMS 2022) this week, Kioxia America will join the industry in celebrating an important milestone — the 35th anniversary of the invention of NAND flash memory. Toshiba is said to have invented this groundbreaking technology in 1987. Kioxia, which was officially spun off from Toshiba, continues to look to the future.

By introducing innovative form factors and solutions, Armored Man hopes to continue to lead and define what’s next for the industry.

At the Flash Memory Summit, the company will highlight how it is using flash memory to drive advancements in a variety of areas and cover application scenarios such as mobile computing, edge, cloud, data center, and in-vehicle.

In addition, Scott Nelson, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Armored Man, and Shigeo (Jeff) Ohshima, Technical Director of SSD Application Engineering, will co-present a keynote entitled “KIOXIA: 35 Years of Flash & Beyond”.

In addition to reviewing the 35-year history of the invention of flash memory, we can expect the company to chart how it will drive the future of this game-changing technology,” said Scott Nelson.

"With the invention of flash memory, we have entered a new era of thin, high-density, scalable, and portable storage.

From the early 1990s to the present, the impact of innovative flash memory technology has been widely felt in the industry.

In short, flash memory has not only enriched people's lives, but has also expanded society's horizons and has a very bright future."

Finally, in this year’s Flash Memory Summit panel discussion, Doug Wong, Senior Engineer at Armored Man USA, will discuss topics related to NAND flash memory.

Topics include major events of the past 35 years, new applications that could not have been created without NAND flash and are being realized, and how Armored Man will continue to lead innovation through its inventions.
