CATL announced that wholly owned subsidiary — Chengdu Xinjin Era New Energy Science and Technology Limited Company (hereinafter referred to as “Xinjiang era”) recently won the certification body SGS issued PAS2060 (hereinafter referred to as “Xinjin Times”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL, has recently received the PAS2060 Carbon Neutral Certification issued by SGS, a certification organization, and has formally joined the ranks of zero-carbon factories, and has become the fourth zero-carbon factory of CATL to receive this certification.
With Xinjin Times being upgraded to a “zero-carbon factory”, CATL is one step closer to the zero-carbon strategic goal of “realizing carbon neutrality in core operations by 2025, and realizing carbon neutrality in the whole value chain by 2035”.
Xinjin Era is located in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, and in July 2021 started mass production.

CATL said that Xinjin Times has built a CFMS intelligent plant management system to provide an intelligent brain for the green energy system, detecting the state of equipment in real time, collaborating to optimize the total energy consumption of the system and the state of each sub-equipment, and guarding energy security and stability.
In terms of green manufacturing, Xinjin Times has built a digital production central control management system, global visual management can significantly reduce process losses; AI visual inspection system can automatically learn and extract defective features, and improve the detection rate in die-cutting, slitting, winding and other links.
Meanwhile, Xinjin Times has electrified the logistics chain and widely used electric transportation tools to realize zero-carbon operation from the supply chain to production to the user end. In terms of energy use, Xinjin Times adopts all hydroelectric renewable energy to provide clean energy for production and manufacturing.
In March this year, CATL Sichuan Times Yibin factory became the world’s first battery zero-carbon factory, and in just six months, four factories under CATL have been listed as zero-carbon factories.
