The website of the State Intellectual Property Office shows that CATL applied for the registration of two “Kirin Battery” trademarks on January 4, and the international classifications are scientific instruments and means of transportation.

Previously, CATL stated on the interactive platform on January 11 that Kirin batteries are expected to be mass-produced in the first quarter of 2023; the company is working hard to promote the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries in 2023.

The Kirin battery adopts the third-generation CTP technology of the CATL, with a volume utilization rate of up to 72%, an energy density of up to 255Wh/kg, and a battery life of more than 1,000 kilometers for the entire vehicle.

At the same time, the Kirin battery also adopts the world’s first large-surface cooling technology for batteries, which can support a 5-minute fast hot start and 10-minute fast charging. CATL stated that under the same chemical system and the same battery pack size, the power of the Kirin battery pack is 13% higher than that of the 4680 system.
