Canon EOS R5 camera ushered in V1.8.1 heavy firmware upgrade, added support for “body anti-shake high-resolution shooting” function, now officially open for download and update, IT House friends You can follow the guide to complete the firmware upgrade.

Firmware version 1.8.1 mainly includes the following:

  1. Added [Body Stabilization High Resolution Shooting] function in the camera menu. By utilizing the in-body anti-shake mechanism, it is now possible to record higher-resolution images.

This firmware upgrade supports the use of the EOS R5 body anti-shake mechanism, and adds support for high-resolution shooting modes with body anti-shake. In this mode, the user only needs to release the shutter once, and the camera will continuously capture 9 images and synthesize 1 ultra-high resolution image with more than 400 million pixels (JPEG: 24576×16384) inside the camera.

This function is also commonly known as “shaking music” and “shaking pixels” in the photography circle. It is suitable for shooting still life, macro, architecture, etc., and needs to be used under static conditions.

  1. The [Save Communication Settings to/Load from Card] function has been added to the camera menu. It is now possible to transfer network settings between cameras of the same model.
  2. Added the ability to crop and resize images during transfer to FTP server.
  3. Added [Protect Image During FTP Transfer] function in the camera menu. Images transferred via FTP are now automatically protected. Users can determine whether images have been transferred via FTP.
  4. Fixed other minor bugs.
