BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu said at the China Electric Vehicles 100 Forum (2024) today that the insurance penetration rate of new energy vehicles exceeded 48.2% last week. If it develops at this rate, it is estimated that The penetration rate of new energy vehicles may exceed 50% or even higher in the next three months, forming a dominant position of new energy vehicles in the market.

In February this year, BYD sold 122,311 new energy vehicles, compared with 193,655 vehicles in the same period last year; cumulative sales this year were 323,804 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 6.14%. It is noted that BYD Co., Ltd. sold a total of 23,291 new energy passenger vehicles overseas in February 2024.

BYD’s total installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in February 2024 was approximately 6.665GWh, and the total installed capacity in 2024 was approximately 17.973GWh.
