BYD’s T4K Pure Electric Truck is launched in South Korea: with a range of 246 kilometre

0

BYD and its local partner GS recently held a launch conference for the T4K, a pure electric 1t light truck.

1t trucks are called “special vehicles for small business owners” in South Korea. There are about 2.3 million vehicles in the country, and about 200,000 new vehicles are replaced every year. The South Korean government has launched many policies to support the development of environmentally friendly vehicles, including electric trucks. For buyers, the Korean national and local governments will provide subsidies. And South Korea announced that starting from 2023, it will completely ban the use of diesel vehicles for 1t express vehicles.

South Korea’s T4K truck will be equipped with an 82kWh Blade battery capable of travelling 246 kilometers on a single charge. GS Corporation and BYD will collaborate with Kakao Mobility to sell the T4K truck through the KakaoT app, which supports navigation using T Map. The selling price without subsidy is 46.69 million won (the current price is about 244,000 CNY). If both Korean and local government subsidies are applicable, the purchase price of some local governments is as low as 19 million won (currently about 99,180 CNY).

According to BYD, as of March this year, a total of 301 electric buses have been put into the Korean market, with a cumulative operating mileage of more than 25 million kilometers.
