BYD Tenshi D9 MPV sold 6,439 units in January: average transaction price RMB 410,000

BYD’s Tenshi recently announced January sales of 6,439 units, up 7.3% from the previous month, officially stating that it “ascended to the number one position in new energy luxury MPV sales above 350,000”, with an average transaction price of RMB 410,000. Since its launch, the cumulative orders for the Tenshi D9 have exceeded 50,000.

According to Tenshi, among the additional customers of the Tenshi D9, 50% of them are from traditional fuel car luxury brands. Deliveries of the EV model of the D9 will also begin soon (expected to start in February). The first OTA upgrade for the D9 will take place in the first quarter of this year, covering smart driving, safe driving and other features.

The D9 debuted in April 2022 and was officially launched in August with an official guide price of RMB 33.58-45.98 million, offering 7 models in 2 versions: DM-i super hybrid and pure electric, of which the DM version uses DM-i super hybrid technology with a combined range of 1040km and a maximum pure electric range of 190km; the EV powertrain is based on the e platform The EV powertrain is based on the e-Platform 3.0, with a maximum CLTC range of 600+km.
