BYD supplies, world’s largest single-phase energy storage plant commissioned in the U.S.

According to BYD Energy Storage official news, recently, BYD Energy Storage supplied the world’s largest single-phase energy storage power plant in the sunny West Coast of the United States successfully put into commercial operation. The independent energy storage plant is supplied with BYD Cube T28, a 1500V grid-level energy storage product with a storage capacity of nearly 1.7GWh.

Independent energy storage power stations to independent subject identity directly with the power dispatch agency signed a grid-connected scheduling agreement, not subject to location restrictions, with the ability to achieve peak regulation, frequency regulation, standby, tracking plan generation and other advantages. From the point of view of the industry chain, compared to new energy distribution and storage, independent energy storage has higher requirements for components and system integration.

According to BYD Energy Storage, the BYD Cube T28 is the first liquid-cooled energy storage product in China that has passed UL9540A system-level qualification and has excellent performance. It adopts automotive-grade cooling system components, which are highly safe, reliable and long-lived, and is compatible with global energy storage standards.

When operational, this stand-alone energy storage plant will store and dispatch electricity to more than 47,000 homes per year. Compared to natural gas-fired power generation, this will reduce CO2 emissions by 275,000 tons and carbon oxide emissions by 47 tons per year, which is equivalent to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from 53,000 vehicles.
