Recently, according to foreign media reports, Pere Brugal, BYD’s European sales director, revealed in an interview with the media that the medium-sized pure electric sedan “Seal” will be the next model that BYD will introduce to the European market. It is expected to be launched in 2023, but the specific time is not clear.

At the 2022 Paris Auto Show, BYD launched three pure electric models of Tang, Han and Yuan PLUS (ATTO 3) in one go, and held a delivery ceremony for the first batch of car owners. At the same time, BYD announced that it will cooperate with Shell to provide high-quality charging services, including to BYD owners have opened the right to use about 300,000 Shell charging piles in Europe.

According to the plan, by the end of 2022, these three BYD models will enter the markets of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Israel, and Italy and Spain will join in 2023. At present, BYD Yuan PLUS has passed the European E-NCAP crash test and obtained a 5-star score.

There is also news that after the seal, BYD will launch the Dolphin model to Europe. If the situation is true, BYD will have five models to choose from in Europe, all of which are pure electric models. Marketing strategies are different.

Of course, this largely depends on the manufacturing capabilities of car companies. According to data, BYD currently produces more than 200,000 plug-in models per month, usually 50/50 between pure electric and plug-in hybrids, and is continuing to ramp up production. The delivery of 50,000 or more pure electric models to Europe may increase the wait time for local Chinese users by several weeks.
