BYD released Castrosua an Electric bus: with a sitting capacity of 140, ranging from 470 km

At the 2023 World Public Transport Summit (UITP) in Barcelona, BYD unveiled two new pure electric buses: the articulated model BYD B19 and the single-engine model BYD-Castrosua.

Here’s a look at the specific features of the two new vehicles. The BYD B19 has an overall length of 18.75m and can accommodate up to 140 passengers inside. The bus adopts the latest lithium iron phosphate technology and a six-in-one controller, which will provide higher safety and stability.

The battery has a capacity of 563kWh and a range of 470km, with the option of a high-powered fast-charging device on the roof.

Another single-engine model, BYD-Castrosua, is a 12m pure electric bus, which is the first cooperation between BYD and Spanish body manufacturer Castrosua. It is 12.2 meters long, with a lot of colorful design, and will also be equipped with BYD’s triboelectric technology, with a battery capacity of 422kWh.

BYD has operated or ordered more than 4,200 electric buses in Europe, which have been put into operation in more than 20 countries or regions and nearly 100 cities in Europe, with a total operating mileage of more than 235 million kilometers.
