According to a report by “Later Auto” today, BYD plans to mass-produce sodium-ion batteries in the second quarter of 2023, which will be installed in some configurations and models of Qin EV, Dolphin and the new model Seagull. The Seagull is an A0-class small car priced at RMB 80,000 to RMB 100,000.

BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles currently include DM and EV routes, with Dynasty series models such as Han, Tang, Song, Qin, and Yuan, and marine series models such as seals, dolphins, and destroyers.

Data show that BYD’s sales of new energy vehicles in October reached 217,800, a year-on-year increase of 168.9%; from January to October, sales of new energy vehicles were 1,402,900, a year-on-year increase of 158.52%. On November 16, BYD’s 3 millionth new energy vehicle officially rolled off the production line.
