BYD officially signed a contract to build a battery factory

According to Yichun Daily, August 15 afternoon, Yichun Municipal Government, Yichun Economic Development Zone, Yifeng County Government, Yichun Mining Company and BYD Co.

BYD intends to invest 28.5 billion yuan in Yichun to build a production base with an annual production capacity of 30GWh of power batteries and an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate and ceramic clay (including lithium) mining and comprehensive development and utilization projects.

Yichun is a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province, located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province, is the famous “lithium capital of Asia”, has the world’s largest lithium mica mine, the mining volume accounted for more than 70% of the world, lithium oxide mining volume accounted for 31% of the country, 12% of the world.

The two new energy head enterprises, Ningde Time and Guoxuan High-tech, had already settled in Yichun.

Ningde Times will invest a total of no more than RMB 13.5 billion to build the Ningde Times new lithium battery production and manufacturing base (Yichun) project.

Yichun Guoxuan battery 10GWh production line was officially completed and put into operation on May 30. The investment plan of Guoxuan High-tech in Yichun includes power batteries, lithium carbonate, mining, and other projects.

According to the data released by China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, among the top 15 domestic power battery manufacturers in June, Ningde Times ranked first with 49.60% of the installed base, while BYD, LG New Energy, China Innovation Aviation (AVIC Lithium) and Guoxuan Hi-Tech ranked 2-5 with 18.53%, 6.19%, 6.01% and 4.94% respectively. In addition, the 6th to 15th positions are Xin Wanda, Honeycomb Energy, Yiwei Li-energy, Vonergy, Rui Pu Energy, Tafel, Duoduo, Penghui Energy, Lixin, and Jiewei Power in order.
