According to BYD Auto, following the introduction of the first 500 BYD Qin & Song PLUS DM-i hybrid models to the Colombian market at the beginning of the year, 1200 BYD Super Hybrid models arrived in Colombia recently.

This shipment consists of 200 units of Qin PLUS DM-i and 1000 units of Song PLUS DM-i, setting a new record for the single export volume of BYD DM-i Super Hybrid models, and marking BYD DM-i models as the first Chinese brand hybrid cars to sell well in Latin America.

The BYD Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i models were officially launched in the Colombian market in March this year. With the support of DM-i super hybrid technology, the two models have superb fuel economy, a strong comprehensive range and light luxury aesthetic exterior and interior design.

Starting in 2020, BYD has partnered with local dealer Motorysa to sell the full range of BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles in Colombia, including the mid-size luxury flagship sedan Han EV, the luxury all-electric SUV Tang EV, and high-end plug-in hybrid models such as the Qin PLUS DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i. To date, BYD has delivered nearly 3,000 new energy vehicles to Colombia, making it one of the major new energy passenger car brands in the local market.

BYD’s new energy product footprint has spread to major countries in Latin America, including Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Dominica, Costa Rica, Uruguay and other countries.
