BYD demonstrates MEB low-speed emergency braking

0

BYD recently demonstrated a new feature of its intelligent assisted driving – MEB low-speed emergency braking. This function can be applied to low-speed driving scenarios of 2-12km/h. It can identify obstacles such as motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles, and pedestrians, and can also identify small roadblocks such as pillars, ice cream cones, and water horses. It claims a recognition success rate of 99%. The trigger success rate is 95%.

The video released by BYD takes the U8 as an example. This technology can integrate more than 30 smart driving sensors in the entire vehicle, which can provide early warning and activate automatic emergency braking. Officials say it is equivalent to an extra pair of vehicles that can detect the risk of surrounding obstacles and automatically brake. “eyes” and “feet” to detect dangers in time and avoid collisions.

At the beginning of this year, BYD released the “Vehicle Intelligence” strategy, claiming to have achieved the integration of electrification and intelligence through the Xuanji intelligent architecture.

According to previous reports, BYD showed the AEB system test video last year. The U8 equipped with BYD’s AEB system can test the vehicle in front at 130km/h during the day, 110km/h against the vehicle in front that disappears, and 110km/h at night. h In three scenarios including the stationary vehicle in front, braking and stopping are achieved. The test car looks up to the U8 equipped with technologies such as Yi Sifang and Yun Nian, which realizes millisecond-level coordinated control of power and chassis, improving driving comfort after the AEB system is triggered.
