BYD recently held a brand and product pre-sale conference in Uzbekistan, and released three new models, including a pure electric model Han EV, two hybrid models Song PLUS DM-i and destroyer 05. A number of stores will officially open in March, where consumers can experience BYD’s latest new energy vehicle technologies and products.
Uzbekistan, the largest auto market in Central Asia, is transitioning towards electrification of vehicles. BYD has brought blade batteries and DM-i super hybrid technology to local consumers.
Three Pioneer Stores located in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, will open successively from March. They are BYD flagship store and technology museum, comprehensive large-scale BYD brand experience center and BYD city exhibition hall.
The price of BYD Han EV starts from 613,581,000 Uzbekistan som (about 371,500 CNY), the price of Song PLUS DM-i starts from 367,732,000 Uzbekistan som (about 222,600 CNY), and the price of Destroyer 05 starts from 285,736,000 Uzbekistan som (approximately RMB 173,000).
As of March 2023, BYD’s global sales of new energy passenger vehicles have exceeded 3.7 million, covering more than 70 countries and regions and more than 400 cities around the world.
BYD has formulated a long-term localization development plan in Uzbekistan. In December last year, BYD and UzAuto signed a joint venture agreement. The two parties will establish a joint venture company in Uzbekistan to focus on the production of new energy vehicles and related parts. The debut of BYD’s new energy passenger vehicles in Uzbekistan and the opening of pre-sales will promote the popularization and promotion of new energy vehicles in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
