KBA data showed that BYD only sold 4,139 vehicles in Germany last year, while Tesla sold 63,685 vehicles and Volkswagen 519,089 vehicles. According to Germany’s “Automobilwoche” report, BYD recently started price cuts in Germany, with a reduction of 15%.

According to reports, BYD’s best-selling ATTO 3 model will be launched in Europe in September 2022. The transaction price at the beginning of this year was about 47,000 euros.

Calculated based on a 15% discount, the current starting price of this electric SUV is about 39,950 euros, which will be compared with the Volkswagen ID.4 (43,900 euros) and Tesla Model Y (44,899 euros) to compete.

It is worth mentioning that BYD’s car roll-off carrier was delivered and left the port in Yantai, Shandong on January 9. This is the first car carrier in BYD’s “sea-going fleet” – BYD EXPLORER NO.1.

According to reports, the 7,000-space car carrier was built by CIMC Raffles, a subsidiary of CIMC Group, for the international shipping company Zodiac Maritime and leased to BYD by the shipowner. At the next stop, the ship will go to Shenzhen Xiaomo Port to load trucks before heading to Europe.

At the same time, the ship is also the first car transport ship built by a domestic shipyard and specially used for the export of domestically produced cars, marking the beginning of the era of “self-transport of domestic cars”.
