SAIC-GM’s Buick Electra ES has now been declared through the Ministry of Industry, which is the production version of Electra-X, the new vehicle positioned 5-seat medium and large SUV, the power form will use the pure electric drive, this will also be Buick’s first pure electric SUV based on the GM Ultium Otter Energy electric vehicle platform.
The new car adopts the new design concept of the Buick family while continuing the charm of the concept car, the length, width and height dimensions are 4892/1905/1681 (1684) mm, the wheelbase is 2954mm, the new car using SAIC Power’s own ternary lithium battery, the maximum power of the single-motor version is 180kW, is expected to see dual-motor four-wheel drive version soon.
The car has previously been exposed at home and abroad in spy photos, and had been scheduled to be officially unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show, as the show has been canceled, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology declaration has also become a legitimate global debut.
On top of the appearance, the new car certainly adopts Buick’s new design language in the front part, essentially the same as the previously released coupe SUV basically, that is, the upper and lower bifurcated split headlight clusters and sharp forward wrapped nose as the core elements, only in the front bumper part by the large sealed body of the same color panel instead of the black grille, the left and right sides also added chrome decorative strips, showing a rather senior identity.
Judging from the declaration picture, the new car is actually a bit more rigid than Buick’s current fuel model, showing a stronger sense of the future. In terms of details, such as the special D-pillar intersection, hidden door handles, multi-segment dynamic waistline, large pneumatic wheels and other elements all show enough fashion sense.
In the rear part of the car, the new car certainly adopts the popular through-tail lights, which will be the future Buick family style from the Century Century and other models, and even more special is the roof spoiler leading to the high brake lights with a three-point construction, which looks quite eye-catching. The rear insurance section also has a red light strip and hierarchical details corresponding to the top, further enhancing the sense of hierarchy and design.
