Broadcom today announced the launch of its second-generation Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity solution, covering Wi-Fi routers, enterprise and client devices.

Last year, Broadcom reportedly introduced the BCM67263 for residential APs, the BCM43740 for enterprise APs and the BCM4398 for client devices.

This year, Broadcom introduced the new chips BCM6765, BCM47722 and BCM4390. The BCM6765 and BCM47722 are targeted at residential and business Wi-Fi platforms respectively, supporting 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, Dual 2×2 and transmission rates of up to 8.64 Gbps. enterprise Wi-Fi platforms The BCM47722 also integrates Bluetooth and Zigbee / 802.15.4 support to meet IoT requirements. Both platforms are equipped with a quad-core ARMv8 CPU and 10G PHY.

The client solution is the BCM4390, which replaces last year’s BCM4398 and supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands, but with reduced channel width support from 320 MHz to 160 MHz and a PHY rate of 3.2 Gbps. In addition, the BCM4390 integrates Bluetooth Denver, Thread and Zigbee support. The new BCM4390 also supports Broadcom’s proprietary SpeedBooster technology.

Broadcom said it is currently sampling its second-generation Wi-Fi 7 chip to retail, enterprise and other customers.

Broadcom’s three-chip parameters are as follows:
