Reuters reported in January this year that display maker BOE Technology Group plans to invest US$400 million to build two factories in Vietnam. According to Korean media The Elec and several local media reports in Vietnam, BOE has selected Bac Ninh for its first factory in Vietnam.

Bac Ninh City is located in northern Vietnam. BOE plans to produce various small and medium-sized display panels such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and liquid crystal displays (LCDs) at its factory in Bac Ninh. The panels it produces are supplied to Apple, mainly for iPhone SE (fourth generation). BOE’s Bac Ninh factory is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2025.

The report that an important reason why BOE decided to build a display panel factory in Bac Ninh is to meet Apple’s requirements and use the city’s relevant preferential policies to accelerate the landing of the factory.
