According to Korean media ZDNet Korea, BOE took the lead in becoming the screen supplier for Apple’s iPhone SE 4, and Samsung Display withdrew from negotiations due to price issues.

Based on existing information, iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released in 2025, using the same size 6.1-inch OLED display as the iPhone 13/14 standard version, with shipments of up to 15 million units.

Referring to previous reports, there are three main companies competing for the screen supply license for Apple’s iPhone SE 4, namely BOE, Samsung Display and Tianma.

According to ZDNet Korea, Samsung Display gave up supply negotiations in the middle of this month due to price reasons, mainly because Apple’s price was only $25 (currently about 181 RMB).

Samsung’s previous offer was US$30, which, although lower than the two Chinese manufacturers, was still far from Apple’s expectations.

Sources said that Samsung Display was not very interested in supplying iPhone SE 4 screens from the beginning due to price differences. On the other hand, Apple also hopes to reduce the iPhone supply chain’s dependence on Samsung Display.

Another competitor, Tianma, has clear intentions to enter the iPhone SE 4 supply chain, but its product quality has not yet met Apple’s requirements.
