BMW announced that it has reached a cooperation with the Swiss game platform AirConsole to introduce in-vehicle games to the newly released 5-series pure electric vehicle earlier this week. In addition, the AirConsole application will also be launched in other BMW models, which is the first time that AirConsole has landed on an in-vehicle platform.

The in-vehicle game service needs to use the user’s smartphone as a controller, and the large central control screen in the car as a display. After launching the AirConsole app in the car, users simply scan a QR code to connect their phone to the screen and start gaming.

However, for safety reasons, users can only use this service when the car is charging, and cannot play while driving the vehicle.

The AirConsole in-vehicle game service will initially offer around 15 games, including Go Kart Go, Golazo, Music Guess, and Overcooked, with the list expanding in the future.

To celebrate the launch of the in-vehicle game, BMW also released the i5 pure electric car with a strong game color. The appearance uses a pixel pattern to pay tribute to the iconic 8-bit game era.
