Automaker Stellantis Offers One-Time Voluntary Severance Package to Regular U.S. Employees

According to the Wall Street Journal, Stellantis Group, the global parent company of Jeep, Chrysler and other auto brands, said that as part of a larger restructuring, the company is providing a one-time payment to regular U.S. employees. Voluntary severance pay for increased focus on new technology and low-emission vehicles.

In a statement, Stellantis said it would offer voluntary severance compensation to some employees this month and provide them with benefits they otherwise would not have received. These benefits were originally offered to employees with 30 years of service and pensions, as well as those ineligible for pensions and 10 to 55 years of age.

Stellantis did not provide more details, including how many of the 13,000 regular employees in the United States are eligible for voluntary separation compensation and whether there are specific reduction targets.

According to the financial report, in the first half of 2022, Stellantis Group’s net revenue reached 88 billion euros (about 635.36 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 17%; adjusted operating profit reached 12.4 billion euros (about 89.528 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 44% , the adjusted operating margin was 14.1%. During the reporting period, the global sales of pure electric vehicles of the Stellantis Group increased by nearly 50% year-on-year, with 136,000 units sold.
