Audi’s global vehicle sales rose 26 percent year-over-year to 420,700 units in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to foreign media reports. Among them, global sales of all-electric vehicles reached a record 41,200 units, up 42 percent year-on-year.

For the full year 2022, the brand’s vehicle sales decreased by nearly 4 percent from 2021 to 1.61 million units. Of these, 118,196,000 all-electric vehicles were sold worldwide, up 44.3 percent year-over-year from 81,894,000 in 2021.

The significant increase in sales of Audi’s all-electric vehicles is due to the company’s “systematic continuation of its electrification strategy.

In June 2021, Audi announced that it would stop producing diesel and gasoline vehicles by 2033 as part of an industry-wide shift to greener electric vehicles.

In late June 2022, Audi’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Markus Duesmann said the company plans to bring only electric vehicles to market starting in 2026.

In December 2022, Audi unveiled its latest future plans to phase out fuel vehicles and transition to full production of electric vehicles in the coming years.
