Audi: New models will be fully switched to pure electric vehicles from 2026

According to the official news of Audi China, Audi has released a future-oriented production plan. From 2026, Audi’s new models for the global market will be fully switched to pure electric vehicles, and by 2033, the production of internal combustion engine models will be phased out. In line with its global strategy, Audi is steadily making preparations for the production of purely electric vehicles at its own production sites.

By 2033, all of Audi’s own production sites around the world will be producing electric vehicles. The two Audi plants in Böllinger Höfe and Brussels have already started production of purely electric models.

Audi China that the Audi Q6 e-tron, the first purely electric model, will be produced at the Ingolstadt plant starting this year. By 2029, all of Audi’s own production sites around the world will produce at least one pure electric model. 2033, Audi will gradually stop production of internal combustion engine models, depending on local conditions.

Audi China said that new plants will be built when there is a demand for expanded capacity. In China, for example, Audi and its local partner FAW China are building a new plant in Changchun, which will be Audi’s first site in China dedicated to producing all-electric models.
