ATP Electronics Announces S750/S650 Series High Endurance, Low Latency TLC Memory Cards

ATP Electronics, one of the global leaders in storage and memory solutions, has just launched the new S750 and S650 series of SD/microSD memory cards based on TLC flash memory. With high endurance and low latency, they are designed for demanding, uninterrupted video recording and are ideal for car recorders/digital video recorders (DVRs), surveillance systems/autonomous vehicles, and other write-intensive applications.

Considering the importance of video recording, the need for continuous operation and durability of SD / microSD memory cards is becoming increasingly important.

First, the S650 Series features 5000 P/E erase cycles for up to 109401 hours of continuous Full HD video recording – 1.6 times more than the average 3000 P/E competitor.

Secondly, the S750 series has chosen a pSLC configuration with 60,000 P/E erase cycles — compared to the 20,000-30,000 nominal P/E cycles of conventional pSLC cards.

In addition, FHD simulation tests against competing products show that the ATP S650 128GB microSD memory card is ready in <1 second and has a 50% faster write speed.

● After powering up, the DVR may need to wait several seconds to initialize, and the response time between the first read and write commands from the host device is particularly important.

Simulation tests with DVRs at room temperature show that ATP S650 / S750 series memory cards have a response time of less than 1 second. This compares to a delay of 7 to 12 seconds for regular memory cards. ● The ATP S650 memory card takes less than 0.1 seconds to continuously record 16 MB of data – a 50% savings in write time over typical consumer-grade memory cards, and the ability to back up at high speeds without easily losing data.
Finally, ATP Electronics is able to optimize the firmware (FW) and hardware (HW) design for specific application scenarios based on the needs of industrial customers.

For example, over time and with continued use, NAND flash cells can experience voltage shifts and bit error rate (BER) increases due to aging.

But thanks to Automatic Read Calibration (ARC), this technology better ensures data integrity and combines IP67 / IP57 level protection with advanced SiP system-level packaging processes.
