Asus ROG Phone 7 models appear on Geekbench site: equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

0

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 phone recently made its debut on the Geekbench score site, and it could be the 7D version (judging by its model number ASUS_AI2205_D). Of course, the previous D model used the Tiangui chip, so this could be a different variant. Other than that, there are at least two models lurking in the Geekbench score database.

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 handset has AI2205_B and AI2205_C, presumably the ASUS ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Pro. Unconfirmed reports claim that the C version will be available in the Indian region.

Note that all three models B, C and D of the ROG Phone 7 so far use the base version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which has a 3.19GHz main core. In the past, ASUS has introduced enhanced versions of Qualcomm’s flagship chips, such as the ROG Phone 5 / Pro with the base Snapdragon 888 chip (2.84GHz) and then the ROG Phone 5s / Pro with the Snapdragon 888+ chip (2.99GHz).

There’s also a 3.36GHz high-band version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, but that’s exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy. It’s not clear if it’s a limited time exclusive.

All three models of the ROG Phone 7 have 16GB of RAM, but ASUS usually also launches an 18GB RAM version with expected specs of LPDDR5X RAM + UFS 4.0 storage.

According to Gadgetsdata, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 phones will come with a 6.8-inch FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED display (with built-in fingerprint recognition), as well as a 6000mAh battery and 65W charging power.

The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series was launched in July last year, so it will be a while before we see the next generation of ROG phones on the market.
