ASUS ROG launched PG49WCD curved monitor with 49-inch ultra-widescreen design

At Computex 2023 held in May, ASUS showcased a gaming monitor model PG49WCD. The 49-inch ultra-widescreen design attracted a lot of attention. Now, this new product is officially launched at the 2023 Cologne Game Show, priced at $1,499.

According to the official introduction, the PG49WCD display has a resolution of 5120×1440 and can provide two independent 16:9 1440p display spaces. The screen uses a QD-OLED panel with a curvature of 1800R, supports a refresh rate of 144Hz and a response time of 0.03 milliseconds.

In addition, the PG49WCD display has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and DisplayHDR True Black 400, and has a DCI-P3 color gamut of 99% with 10-bit color.

The monitor also has a built-in KVM switch, which allows users to control two hosts with one keyboard and mouse, with both desktops distributed on the same display. When the user moves the mouse between the two desktops, it automatically switches control between the two devices, requiring no specialized software or additional hardware.

In terms of interface, PG49WCD monitor provides DP1.4, HDMI2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A interface, which is convenient for users to connect peripheral devices. Additionally, the product offers a full-featured USB Type-C port with 90W power delivery, allowing users to connect the device to a monitor to charge it.

The ultra-widescreen gaming monitor is priced at $1,499 and will be available in early Q4 2023.
