Asus launched the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 router at CES 2023, which claimed to be the world’s first quad-band WiFi 7 gaming router.
The router is equipped with a quad-core 2.6GHz processor, 2GB DDR4 memory, 256MB flash memory, and supports 2.4GHz + dual 5GHz + 6GHz quad-band.
The router harnesses the full potential of WiFi 7 with support for 320 MHz channels in the 6 GHz band, and it claims to offer speeds up to 160 percent faster than the previous generation. Plus, with 4K QAM modulation that packs more data into the transmission, peak data rates can be increased by up to 20 percent, delivering speeds of up to 25,000 Mbps (25Gbps).
ROG Rapture GT-BE98 also supports Multi-Link Operation (MLO) multi-link operation and Multi-RU (Puncturing), which can provide more efficient and reliable wireless connections.
Specifically, multilink operation simultaneously transmits across different frequency bands and channels to increase throughput, reduce latency, and improve reliability for devices. Multi-RU (Puncturing) divides wide channel bandwidth into smaller units, enabling Puncturing to eliminate the interference of the remaining bandwidth and improve efficiency.
ROG Rapture GT-BE98 has equipped with a 10 Gbps WAN / LAN network port and two 10 Gbps LAN network ports, as well as 4 Gigabit LAN ports, 1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, etc. Plus, for gamers who live in larger homes, the router comes with exclusive ASUS RangeBoost Plus technology that improves signal range and overall coverage. Moreover, the router has three levels of game acceleration, providing an excellent gaming experience.
