Intel Xeon W2400 series workstation processors and W790 motherboards are now available. In the domestic e-commerce platform, the ASUS W790 motherboard is currently the only model available, priced at up to RMB 8,999. In overseas e-commerce platforms, ASRock’s W790 workstation motherboard is also available for pre-sale at $880 (currently about RMB 6,125).
ASRock’s W790 WS is mainly optimized to support W-2400 series processors with 4-channel memory support. The motherboard is also compatible with W-3400 series processors but does not support 8-channel memory.
In terms of specifications, ASRock W790 WS provides 8 DDR5 RDIMM slots, supports quad-channel memory and 2DPC design with a maximum installed capacity of 2TB, and supports ECC memory. The W790 WS motherboard supports PCI-Express 5.0 specification with 4 PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slots and 1 PCI-Express 4.0 x16 slot, 4 sets of Blazing M.2 SSD slots (PCIe Gen5 x4), supporting up to 128Gbps transfer speed, with 2 sets of USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 Type-C connector with 40Gbps speed and PD 3.0 fast charging technology, and one U.2 mini SAS (SFF-8643) interface.
