Apple this week invited some Vision Pro headset users to test the use of Spatial Persona (new version of Persona). The purpose is to make you feel like you are communicating and interacting with other people in the same room, so that it is close to face-to-face communication. immersive experience.

After the user completes the setup and enables Spatial Persona, the overall background is translucent and displays the head, hands, and upper part of the torso, giving an overall more natural feel and making it appear that the person in the conversation is in the same room.

In addition, in the Spatial Persona scene, the Vision Pro wearer’s movement in the real world space will also be reflected in the virtual environment.

If you look or point at someone during a call, other participants can see where you are looking or pointing. Moreover, in this space, the sounds made by different participants will also appear three-dimensional according to their positions in virtual reality, allowing the wearer to clearly perceive the position and direction of the sounds.

While standard Persona only shows a person’s face and is limited to a small tile, Spatial Persona has a more immersive feel.

Since the launch of the Vision Pro headset, Apple has been improving the interactive experience of Persona. In Spatial Persona, wearers can invite friends to watch movies and TV shows together, FaceTime and other video calls, use applications such as Freeform, play games, etc. .

Note: Spatial Persona is currently online in a beta version. Users need to upgrade to visionOS 1.1 version update, which supports up to 5 people online at the same time.
