According to foreign technology, media AppleInsider reported that Apple recently obtained a new design patent, indicating that the Apple Watch future can be taken off the strap and used as a small handheld device.
Apple was granted a design patent called “Watch Having a Release Mechanism,” in which Apple says, “Watches and other wearable devices are favored by consumers for their portability and aesthetic appeal. Unfortunately, there are many limitations to the functionality offered by existing wearable devices.”
In the patent, Apple shows a design for a removable Apple Watch, stating, “This allows users to remove the watch from their wrist and then use the watch’s sensor functions in other scenarios.
The description in the patent, reads, “The watch’s connectivity mechanism could integrate new or useful features into the watch case, expanding the possibilities even further.”
