According to the latest report released by the screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, OLED panel output value fell by 4% year-on-year in 2023, lower than the previously expected 9%, and there was a clear recovery trend in the second half of last year.
DSCC reports a recovery in many segments in the second half of 2023 as excess inventory continues to improve and the back-to-school and holiday sales seasons arrive, driving a 9% year-on-year growth in OLED panel shipments.
Senior Director David Naranjo noted:
We expect a recovery from the post-pandemic downturn in 2024 due to macroeconomic and inventory corrections, coupled with double-digit ASP declines.
In terms of IT applications, OLED tablets are expected to achieve triple-digit year-on-year growth as Apple enters the OLED tablet segment, while monitors and laptops are also expected to achieve double-digit year-on-year growth.
