Apple’s new flexible screen iPhone patent revealed

0

According to the list published by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has been granted a patent for an electronic device with a flexible display structure that can unfold like a scroll.

Apple’s patent description is as follows:

Mainstream screens usually use rigid structures such as glass substrates, thus becoming extremely challenging in making compact electronic devices. With a flexible screen, it can be wrapped around one or more rollers.

In the location where the screen is stored, the flexible screen can be stowed around the rollers. When the screen is pulled out of the case, the rollers are unfolded using an auxiliary setup to expand the screen.

Apple previously obtained a similar patent for a “sliding expandable display” that can be fully expanded in the same state as the current iPhone but can be shortened by half to roll inside the device when not in use.
