Apple’s market value exceeds the sum of 11 companies including Coca-Cola and Nike, and Elon Musk tweets “Wow”

The World Of Statistics said in its latest tweet that Apple’s market cap has surpassed the combined market cap of 11 blue chip companies including Coca-Cola and Nike. Elon Musk then retweeted the tweet with the comment, “WoW.”

The World Of Statistics tweeted that Apple’s market capitalization has surpassed the following 11 companies

The Coca-Cola Company: $259.82 billion (currently about RMB 1.76 trillion)

Starbucks Corporation: $120.57 billion (currently about RMB 817.465 billion)

Nike: $196.33 billion (currently about RMB 1.33 trillion)

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.: US$379.01 billion (currently approximately RMB 2.57 trillion)

Exxon Mobil Corporation: $466.81 billion (currently approximately RMB 3.16 trillion)

AT&T Corporation: $137.05 billion (currently approximately RMB 929.199 billion)

Visa, Inc.: $475 billion (currently about RMB 3.22 trillion)

The Walt Disney Company: $188.71 billion (currently approximately RMB 1.28 trillion)

McDonald’s Corporation: $196.71 billion (currently approximately RMB 1.33 trillion)

Ford Motor Company: $49.85 billion (currently approximately RMB 337.983 billion)

Netflix, Inc.: $152.42 billion (currently about RMB 1.03 trillion)

All but four of these companies are constituents of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which consists of 30 blue chip stocks representing key sectors. The combined market capitalisation of these companies is currently US$2.62 trillion. Apple, on the other hand, is currently valued at $2.18 trillion. It is not clear how The World Of Statistics has arrived at this calculation.
