Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Series To Use New Polished Titanium Process

The latest rumors from South Korea claimed that Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro series models will use improved titanium metal processing and dyeing processes.

News aggregation account “yeux1122” on the Naver blog said that this new process will give the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max a smoother and brighter appearance than the matte finish of the iPhone 15 Pro models. It is said that the improved manufacturing process will bring an appearance similar to the glossy stainless steel used in previous Pro series iPhones, but at the same time, the new titanium metal will be more scratch-resistant than stainless steel.

It is noticed that the frosted treatment used on the iPhone 15 Pro model makes its appearance much darker than the previous Pro series models. The benefit of this process is that it is less likely to leave fingerprints and can also reduce the visibility of scratches. In addition to appearance, Apple’s use of titanium frames on the iPhone 15 Pro series also significantly reduces the weight of the devices, with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max being approximately 9% lighter than iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It is reported that the titanium frame and aluminum base structure can also dissipate heat better than previous Pro series models with stainless steel frames. Earlier this week, another rumor claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro series would be available in new “Space Black” and “Rose Gold” titanium colorways, with “Rose Gold” actually being a gold hue and “Space Black” Likely to replace the existing black titanium colorway.
