Although TSMC’s sales in April decreased by 14.3% year-on-year, with the arrival of large orders from Nvidia and Apple, it is still optimistic about the legal person. With the start of stocking up for Apple’s new phones, supply chain manufacturers such as TSMC will also see their performance warm up in the second half of the year.

According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily, Apple’s new iPhone 15 series this year will not be affected by the downturn in the mobile phone market.

According to sources, Apple has ordered suppliers to start stocking up on iPhone 15 components, including material suppliers in Japan and South Korea, and major packaging and testing factories have successively received support for pre-operation requirements, and TSMC is also steadily increasing its monthly production capacity of 3nm.

The market expects that the mid-to-high-end Pro version of Apple’s new iPhone 15 series will use the latest A17 chip and be produced with TSMC’s 3nm process. It is manufactured by TSMC 4nm.

However, last year, Taiwan media pointed out that TSMC’s 3nm foundry quotation was as high as 20,000 US dollars and in recent months, it has often been reported that Apple is the only customer of TSMC’s 3nm, and the cost of foundry has dropped significantly. Therefore, the two new models of the Pro series may experience price increases.

The latest forecast from the research institution Counterpoint Research also pointed out that in the first quarter of this year, Apple’s iPhone’s market share in the United States still increased from 48% to 53% in the same period last year, and it was not affected by external factors such as inflation. The only smartphone brand in the world whose shipments are growing this year, it is expected that the total iPhone shipments will grow by 4% this year, which is better than the global industry’s decline of 2%.
