Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro loses its title of ‘Fastest 5G Phone

Ookla today announced its Q4 2022 mobile performance report, which shows that the iPhone 14 Pro has lost its title as the “fastest 5G phone” in the US market to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Google’s Pixel 7 Pro.

According to the Q4 Mobile Performance Report, the iPhone 14 Pro Max had a median download speed of 133.84 Mbps and the iPhone 14 Pro had a median download speed of 130.14 Mbps, ranking third and fourth respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 took the top spot in the fourth quarter with 147.25 Mbps, followed by Google’s Pixel 7 Pro in second place with 137.11 Mbps. The Galaxy S22 Ultra came in fifth with 124.83 Mbps.

The chart that the upload speeds and latency of the above five models are all relatively similar, with the Google Pixel 7 Pro having the fastest upload speed and lowest latency.

If we rank the internet speeds by phone manufacturer, Samsung has a median download of 79.43 Mbps and an upload of 9.88 Mbps, while Apple has a download of 72.62 Mbps and an upload of 8.69 Mbps.
