Apple’s first Store to open soon in India, Apple is hiring more than 100 employees

Apple has been hiring for its first Apple Store in India, according to a report by the Financial Times. Apple’s current hiring page in India shows a total of more than 100 positions, including business specialists, talented bar repair staff, operations specialists and technical experts, among others.

In a list of retail jobs released this Saturday, it shows that the positions require work in multiple locations, including Mumbai and New Delhi. The Cupertino, California-based technology giant has long planned to set up physical retail stores in India, one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone markets. While the company is starting direct online sales in 2020, it has yet to open an offline Apple Store.

Apple’s Apple Store retail store was originally planned to open in 2021, but the global epidemic and economic uncertainty forced Apple to postpone the opening. Previous reports said the company was aiming for a launch in the January-March 2023 range. The 22,000-square-foot Apple Store in Mumbai will be a “landmark” retailer known for its iconic design.

Apple also plans to open a second, smaller Apple Store in New Delhi, with an area of 10,000-12,000 square feet. In addition to these two stores, Apple will also look for other possible store locations in malls and high-end shopping areas across India, with the aim of making Apple Store retail one of its important businesses.
