The latest performance tests for Apple’s A16 Bionic graphics processor show little improvement over its predecessor. The first generation is much better.

The tests were conducted by Golden Reviewer and the A16 Bionic scored 3359 points in 3DMark’s Wildlife Extreme test, higher than any other chip tested.

However, its efficiency score of 444.1 is lower than MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000 SoCs, but nevertheless, the A16 Bionic is around 20% more powerful and slightly more efficient than the Snapdragon 8+ first generation.

And when the A16 Bionic is compared to the A15 Bionic, the new Apple chip is only 5% more powerful and 20% more efficient than the A15 Bionic. Other benchmark tests also rank the A16 Bionic as the most powerful mobile chip in terms of GPU.

Combining the results of several tests, it can be concluded that the A16 Bionic is significantly more efficient than the A15 Bionic, however, in terms of raw performance, there is only a small improvement.
