Apple will launch at least 3 Mac devices in March this year: including Mac Pro, Mac Mini and more

Apple did not release any new Mac products in the fourth quarter of last year, the first time this has happened since 2000. The latest news is that Apple plans to hold a special spring event in March this year that will launch at least three Mac devices, including an updated version of last year’s expected MacBook Pro.

The LeaksApplePro report mentions a number of Mac devices coming this March: the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the new M2 Mac Mini, the Mac Pro with the M2 chip, and the 15-inch MacBook Air. Apple will also introduce the successor to the Pro Display XDR, Apple’s best display ever.

He said that the most noteworthy one is the Mac Pro. It will be cheaper and more efficient than the current Mac Pro, and it will have an M2 Ultra chip with up to 24 cores in its CPU, 76 cores in its GPU, and 192 GB of RAM memory.

Apple originally planned to use the M2 Extreme chip for the Mac Pro, but that plan has been shelved for now. Apple believes that the relatively small audience for the Mac Pro makes it too expensive to produce. In other words, the chip won’t bring too much profit to the company.

As for the Mac Mini, there’s nothing special about it. The design will be the same as before, mainly the chip will be upgraded to M2. The function of this product is nothing more than to provide new Apple silicon and macOS at a very competitive price to attract new users to the Apple ecosystem. To do this, the cost needs to be reduced, so the design remains the same.
